There was indication that the Action Democratic Party (ADP) may align with other political parties, which it tagged, ‘integrity-political parties, and present a joint presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The ADP National Treasurer, Okey Udo, made this known, yesterday, when he addressed the members during the formal opening of the new state Secretariat of the party, located at 81, Awolowo Street Umuahia, Abia State.
He assured that the alliance would not negatively affect the ADP, and clarified that the strategy to present joint candidates, even at other levels, was to be more able to wrest power from the big political parties in Nigeria and enthrone true leaders for the people.
He also told the members that the party had already concluded plans to establish an international school, where true African democratic tenets would be taught and studied.
Commenting on Abia State, the ADP treasurer further said that the party is poised to democratically replace the state’s ruling PDP in 2023 and described the state as one whose budgets seem to be poorly managed.
He said “We are not like PDP; we can measure up like Rivers State and come close to Lagos State in revenue generation and management.”
He, therefore, urged members to brace up for the task of liberating Abia State and Nigeria in general.
The chairman of ADP, Benjamin Arisa, in his remarks, said that the party was out to enthrone true leadership in Abia, where uncommon developmental strides would be recorded in the history of the State.
