AFED elects new state controller, others
Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED), Lagos State Branch, has elected Pastor James Lartey-Lartey, as the new state controller.
Lartey-Lartey, who described the election held in Lagos as peaceful and very smooth, assured members of effective and efficient educational system for children in the state.
He mentioned training and retraining as one of the focal points of his administration to understand what it means to run a school, be a leader and what it means to be united in running an organisation.
“We would build on the foundation we met on ground and mobilise all our members at all districts level and local council development areas to be part of what the government is doing in Lagos.
“We would look into the welfare and need of our members, ensure advocacy, and involve institutions that would help to secure loans to run the association’s schools,” he said.
The Vice President of the association, Mrs. Nkiru Omoye, said the association would continue to ensure that every child in Lagos State has the right to education, irrespective of where he or she comes from.
“We do not want to see any child during school hour hawking or selling in the market or in any corner helping his or her parent to sell by the road side.”
She said much is expected from the new administration, as AFED would continue to co-operate with the state government, adding that AFED has been doing great in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria.
