African lawyers seek end to insurgency

THE African Bar Association (AFBA) has condemned the Abuja bomb blasts by the Boko Haram insurgents, describing the incidents as wicked and uncalled for.
 
A statement by the association’s Media Director, Mr. Samuel Abasilim, said the bomb blasts, which continued to record deaths in their trail, were a “sordid development that must stop.”
 
The AFBA noted that the activities of the insurgents “have accentuated in Nigeria in spite of the efforts and direct commitment of the Federal Government to address substantially the socio-economic and political misgivings that apparently gave rise to the clandestine activities of these mindless miscreants.”
