In a bid to export African stories to global audiences, ContentGram Studios Africa has launched CG Central on FAST Channels TV. The program, a free ad-supported streaming platform, strengthens the studio’s ambition to position African narratives at the centre of international entertainment, months after the curated programming block debuted on Wazobia Max.
The partnership broadens the reach of CG Central, which showcases a mix of high-energy sitcoms, emotionally layered dramas, and culturally rooted family programming. According to the company, the channel is designed to spotlight Africa’s diversity and creative depth through content shaped by lived experiences, community traditions, and contemporary humour.
At the launch, Creator, ContentGram Studios, Seun Arowojolu, said the collaboration marks a new phase in African creative export. “This channel is not just another platform, it’s a heartbeat. It’s where heartfelt stories from Africa meet the world unfiltered, bursting with energy, truth, and pride. Through CG Central, we’re building a space where Africa speaks for itself,” he said.
Arowojolu noted that the channel debuts with an established slate of hit programmes already popular with African audiences. These include Squatterz’, the long-running sitcom celebrated for its street-smart humour and relatability; Birds of a Feather (BOAF), a family-oriented comedy built around themes of warmth, community, and everyday resilience; and The Chronicles, a drama exploring betrayal, suspense, and the complexities of family dynamics.
He added that CG Central’s catalogue will continue to grow, with upcoming originals such as the much-anticipated sitcom ‘Tade Knows Too Much’ and other culturally rich productions currently in development. The expansion, he explained, is part of a deliberate plan to build a sustained pipeline of African content capable of competing globally.
A key advantage of the partnership, Arowojolu said, lies in FAST Channels TV’s distribution and monetisation ecosystem, which gives content creators access to a worldwide audience without heavy upfront technology costs. He described the platform as a natural fit for ContentGram’s mission to make African stories more accessible.
“Our collaboration with FAST Channels TV allows us to bring the African story closer to audiences everywhere. From Lagos to London, Accra to Atlanta, CG Central is for everyone who believes in the power of family, culture, and laughter,” he said.
He added that the channel is strategically built to appeal to modern, diverse viewers, particularly the youth-driven and family-oriented African diaspora. The growing global demand for African content, he said, offers new opportunities not only for storytelling but also for brands seeking to connect with audiences through premium, culturally resonant programming.
