Again, CBN retains MPR at 13.5 per cent

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has retained the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 13.5 per cent.

CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this yesterday at a press conference to round off the two-day MPC meeting in Abuja.

He explained that the committee unanimously voted to retain the MPR after the rates were reduced from 14 per cent to 13.5 per cent in March 2019 – being the first time the MPR was slashed since July 2016.
