Following the success of AgroEknor’s pilot FEEP scheme, AgroEknor has concluded plans to onboard 5,000 female smallholder farmers to the FEEP scheme in Bauchi state so that they can expand their operations and produce food for communities at home and abroad.
“Creative solutions in the agricultural sector is necessary to drive economic progress in Bauchi State, changing lives and lifting entire communities out of poverty and we have put smallholder farmers front and center of the design framework of FEEP by meeting them in their own environment to work out their needs and come up with solutions” said Attah Anzaku, Co-founder and Executive Director at AgroEknor.
The Farmers Education and Empowerment Programme (FEEP) will provide onboarded farmers with funds that can be distributed as in-kind or in-cash loans to smallholders to boost production and stabilize their supply of inputs to support smallholder farmers to strengthen and grow their business while improving and expanding smallholder farmers’ access to credit, inputs, expertise, and markets for increased food security, employment, and income generation.
Over the next three years, AgroEknor will introduce and scale sustainable agricultural products and service innovations targeting 5,000 smallholder farmers among selected agriculture co-operatives in Bauchi state to enhance and optimise their cultivation efforts for increased productivity and prosperity.
