Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested Sunday Etukudo for killing and burying his daughter, late Ofonmbuk Ime Sunday in a shallow grave.

The Command also arrested a student of Maurid Polytechnic, Abel Irom, for allegedly killing his fellow student during a fight over power bank as well as one Edet Uyo Ntung, a family head who macheted and killed one Emem Monday Uyo, his relation over family feud.

The poly student had a fight with a fellow student, one Precious Johnson ‘m’, over a power bank. They said Johnson died few hours after he was rushed to the hospital.

The state’s Police Commissioner, Olatoye Durosinmi, disclosed this yesterday, while briefing newsmen on the Command’s security strategy against violent crimes, especially kidnapping, murder and armed robbery within the land and waterways of the state.

According to him, the Command also neutralised a notorious kidnapper and robbery kingpin, one Emediong Nse Etuk, a.k.a mopol, responsible for kidnapping and robberies with his gang, in and around Ukanafun, Etim Ekpo, Abak and environs.

He stressed that Etuk was neutralised in Ukanafun, while attempting to scale the fence after the Police, relying on credible information stormed their hideout at Ukanafun.

The CP also warned perpetrators of crimes to desist forthwith or leave the state as the Command will spare no resources in ensuring that those involved are brought to book.

He also called on members of the public to be more vigilant and report suspected criminal elements to the Command for necessary action.

MEANWHILE, the Command has confirmed the abduction of a former permanent secretary under Godswill Akpabio’s administration, Sir Ignatius Brown.
