A’Ibom to hold 2016 World Book Day

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel and other eminent Nigerians will on Thursday, April 28, join the rest of the world in marking the 2016 edition of World Book Day.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel and other eminent Nigerians will on Thursday, April 28, join the rest of the world in marking the 2016 edition of World Book Day.

The event will hold at the state Civil Service auditorium in Uyo, the state capital.

Other guests, including the state’s Deputy Governor, Moses Ekpo, and Founder/Group Managing Director of SO&U Ltd, Lagos, Udeme Ufot, who is expected to be the chairman, would attend the event.

Former National President of Association of Nigerian Author (ANA), Wale Okediran will deliver the keynote address.

The annual event, which is endorsed by the state Ministry of Education, is designated by the United Nations to celebrate books, authors, readers, publishers and lovers of knowledge.

This year’s event is organised by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Foundation for Sound Mind and Crisis Intervention (FOSMACIN), with the mission to build confidence in young people and women.
