Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo Town, has expelled some students of the institution who were involved in a fight that led to the death of a fellow student.

The university also debunked rumours that cultism exists in the school, saying it has zero tolerance for the menace.

Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Atoyebi, who confirmed the development in a statement yesterday, said the expelled students did not belong to any cult group. He said the deceased was alleged to have stolen a mobile telephone, but instead of reporting the issue to the management, the expelled students could not control their emotions. Hence, their actions led to his death.

He said: “The university has taken swift action by handing over all the students involved to the Nigeria Police Force for investigation, with the assurance that justice will be served.”
