
Others honoured by the private university include former minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lt-Gen. Jeremiah Useni (rtd.) and Chairman/CEO of Spectrum Engineering Ltd, Dr. Abubakar Isa.
Expressing appreciation on behalf of the three recipients, Akande lauded the Chancellor of the institution, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, for his foresight to establish the first private university in the country and promised to institute a centre for leadership training in the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, said the institution was at the forefront of providing quality education and research for overall development of the country.
He said: “We shall be conferring honorary degrees on three distinguished Nigerians who have made positive contributions to society and national development.
They are His Excellency Chief Adebisi Bamdele Akande; His Excellency Lt. Gen. (Senator) Jeremiah Timbut Useni (rtd) and Dr. Abubakar Isa.
