
The immediate past governor of Ogun State and the Arole of Remoland, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has described the late Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo, Erinjugbo II, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland as an accomplished monarch whose death ended another glorious chapter in the administrative and rich cultural history of Remoland.
In his condolence message, Daniel described the monarch’s courage, carriage and charisma as exceptional.
A statement signed on his behalf by Ayo Giwa said Sonariwo’s reign witnessed unprecedented development in Remo and its environs, adding that he was a sincere reformer and detribalised traditional ruler, who worked tirelessly to move his kingdom forward with progressive vision, sterling leadership qualities and unshakeable commitment to serve, which endeared him to his people, Ogun State and Nigeria in general.
