Hon. Akin Alabi, Member of the House of Representatives for Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Works, on Friday, expressed his profound condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde on the sudden passing of his elder brother, Sunday, who died on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 65.

In a statement released to the media by Hameed Mustapha Ramadan, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Alabi conveyed his deep sympathies to Makinde and the entire Makinde family, acknowledging the pain of losing a loved one.

“It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing of Engr. Sunday Makinde. Losing an elder brother is a deeply painful experience, and my thoughts and prayers are with Governor Seyi Makinde, the Makinde family, the indigenes, and residents of Oyo State during this loss,” Alabi said.

He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for Governor Makinde and his family during this difficult time, asking that the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace.

“On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency, I extend my sincere condolences to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the entire Makinde family. May God grant you the fortitude to bear this loss, and may Engr.
Sunday Makinde’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.”
