Akpabio commissions NDC officers’ mess, stresses professionalism, dedication
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, yesterday, commissioned the remodelled National Defence College (NDC) Officers’ mess in Abuja, charging the personnel to maintain a high level of professionalism and dedication to duty.
He described the facility as a vital hub for strategic discussions and unity among the armed forces, saying it would serve as a sanctuary for those who have dedicated their lives to serving the country.
Akpabio commended the Federal Government for its unwavering support for the armed forces and praised the commandant of the college and his team for their efforts in bringing the vision to fruition.
He reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government to the welfare of military officers.
Akpabio said the government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, had shown unrelenting support for the armed forces, adding that the current project was yet another example of such commitment.
He also gave the assurances of the government for the timely completion of the college’s permanent site at Piweyi, adding that the Senate would ensure adequate provision for the project in the 2025 budget.
The Commandant, Rear Admiral O. M. Olotu, described Akpabio as a long-standing patron of the college and commended him for his contribution to the military institution.
According to him, the commissioning of the building is a significant step towards ensuring the continued legacy of excellence and service among the armed forces.
