Says Coronavirus not a death sentence
A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Otunba Segun Adewale, has urged all African leaders to end the scaremongering among the people in the continent over the spread of Coronavirus.

Adewale, with a group of young friends online, spoke on the need for government agencies to provide accurate data on the number of victims in the continent than spreading and instilling fears in the people.

According to him, there is Coronavirus in Africa but not as potent as people are made to believe, backing his claims with the statistics released by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on the number of deaths continent by continent.

He said that Africans must work hard to end the virus so that its fragile economy will not go down the drain, as the people are mostly relying on their day-to-day hustle for survival, noting that locking them down without provision of palliatives will result into more deaths from fear and hunger than the Coronavirus itself.

The PDP chieftain, in his series of tweets via his official Twitter handle, @SegunAeroland, said that he had been asking Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) pertinent questions, which have not been answered.

Adewale said: “Why are they more interested in churning out figures of victims without telling Nigerians the possible solutions that an average Nigerians can apply in case they are feeling the symptoms of COVID-19.

“Some of these officials are interested in jacking up the figures of the affected victims just to keep the people in fear, as billions of donations and grants are continually rolling in for them.

“Nigeria’s minister for health should tell Nigerians what the government is doing to roll back the disease, rather than creating more fears, panic and destroying more businesses in an environment that is not already business-friendly. I urge Nigerians to wake up now.”

“We must be able to think and discern on this #COVID-19 critically. How many leaders in this country have ever made public their medical records in the past, including President Muhammadu Buhari?

“So, why are they all suddenly and willingly making their records open and public. Wake up Nigerians!

“For the benefit of all Nigerians who thinks critically of the potency of #COVID19, I still hold the belief that Coronavirus was not designed for this climes.”
