Amosun, Cleric Task Muslims On Ramadan Lessons
OGUN State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun joined thousands of Muslim faithful to worship at the Lantoro praying ground in Abeokuta, the state capital yesterday.
At the event, the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Ladi Orunsolu in his sermon, appealed to all Muslim faithful to shun any form of violence, insisting that violence had never, and will never be part of Islam.
“I urge you all to uphold the teachings of Islam, as Allah requested of us all. We should desist from sin and always remember the lessons learnt from the month of Ramadan,” the cleric stated.
He added, “We should always remember the less privileged and continue to help them through giving our Zakat (alms giving). It is only by doing all these that our prayers are answered by Allah,” adding, “I also implore you to continue to remember the state and the governor in our prayers.”
