There was seeming anxiety in Nawfia Community, in Njikoka Council of Anambra State, over the delay in settling arrears of the stipend due to the restored traditional ruler, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo (Osuofia II).

The development is on account of the order of an Awka High Court 3 dismissing the August 2020 suspension of Igwe Nwankwo, among other traditional rulers, by the state government, for traveling with billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, to Abuja to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his developmental strides in the South East, including Anambra.

The Guardian gathered that the order of the court, presided over by Justice Peace Otti, of the High Court 3, notifying Governor Charles Soludo of the judgement recognising Nwankwo as the monarch of Nawfia, was condition precedent to August 11, 2020, when the Abuja trip was made.

At the last sitting, C S. Ikerie, the counsel to the 4th defendant, Dr. Shadrack Moguluwa, had told the court that the order of the court made on June 22, 2022, was being flouted by the state government by recognising Dan Obele as the traditional ruler of the community, inviting him to meetings and functions.
