The Asaba Diocese of the Anglican Communion has been thrown into deep down mourning following the sudden death of Rev. Stanley who died along with 12 other persons in a ghastly multiple auto crash.

Eleven males and two females died in the accident, which occurred near Atakpo stream in Ibusa along Asaba-Ogwashi Uku Road in Delta State on Thursday night.

The accident involved a Ford vehicle marked GWK 684 XA belonging to Christ Anglican Church, Ibusa, a commercial mini bus Mitsubishi L300 with registration number BJ 831 AKD and a Honda car marked BEN 413 CF.

An eyewitness account said that the priest, who was behind the steering wheel, was descending the hill by the stream on his way to Ibusa from Asaba when he rammed into the fully loaded commercial bus which was traveling in the opposite direction.

The ill-fated Honda car, which was also heading to Ibusa from Asaba at top speed rammed into the two vehicles.

The four survivors of the crash are presently receiving treatment at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital and St. Rebecca hospital both in Asaba, while the corpses have been deposited at the General Hospital, Ibusa.
