MEDIA practitioners from Delta North senatorial district (ANIOMA), under the aegis of Anioma Media Professionals (AMP) and some prominent indigenes of the area have congratulated the governor-elect of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and senator-elect for Delta North, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, on their victories at the just-concluded general elections, describing their successes as triumph of equity.

In the same vein, prominent Anioma indigenes and groups have extended their felicitation to Okowa and urged to focus on the Pan-Delta development goal of his campaign.

In a statement signed by Mr. Ken Ugbechie, on behalf of the group, in Lagos, AMP also commended the people of the state for standing for justice, equity and fairness during the governorship election, by voting for Okowa, from Delta North, which was producing the governor for the first time since the creation of the state.

“We are happy that the people of Delta State rose to the occasion and beyond ethnic sentiments in favour of equity by voting for Okowa,” it stated.

AMP urged Okowa to see the entire state and its people as one united family, as he has always professed, and quickly reconcile with his opponents in his bid to move the state forward.

“We are particularly glad that you won an emphatic victory with broad support from the three Senatorial Districts, without bloodshed and loss of life. We look forward to your fulfilling your campaign promises, especially, in the areas of running a merit-based and all-inclusive administration,” the statement added.

It equally called for the wise counsel and cooperation of all Deltans, as the incoming government prepares to take the state to greater heights, saying “it was a victory for all Deltans, irrespective of political or ethnic affiliations, as that is normal in politics.”

AMP also charged Deltans to cooperate with the Okowa’s administration to reap the full dividend of their massive vote.
