The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a reconciliation initiative to mend fences with members aggrieved by the outcomes of the 2023 general election in Adamawa State.
To spearhead this effort, the party’s National Secretariat constituted a high-powered Reconciliation Committee to reunite members and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The committee, led by former Senator for Adamawa Northern Senatorial District, Mohammed Mana, yesterday, convened at the APC State Secretariat in Yola, where it engaged state and local council executives and other stakeholders.
The committee’s membership includes prominent figures such as Isa Baba (Secretary), former Senators Abubakar Halilu Girei, Bello M. Tukur, and Binta Masi Garba, alongside Dr. Bridget Zidon, H.E. Martins Babale, and Yusuf Buba Yakub.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman, Mohammed Mana, emphasised the importance of reconciliation for the party’s growth, describing APC as a grassroots organisation poised to reclaim power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State. He applauded the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, for championing the initiative, expressing hope for unity and renewed strength within the party.
The State APC Chairman, Idris Shuaibu, welcomed the committee’s formation, describing it as a groundbreaking step toward fostering harmony. He commended the members for prioritising the party’s interest, expressing optimism about APC’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
He also lauded President Bola Tinubu’s administration and Ribadu for their commitment to restoring the party’s glory in Adamawa. The reconciliation effort marks a critical step in repositioning the APC as a formidable political force in the state.
