APC shuts secretariat in honour of Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

APC acting National Chairman, Bukar Dalori, directed that the secretariat be closed from Monday, July 14, and will reopen on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

“We urge Party faithful to use this period of national mourning for quiet reflection and prayers for the repose of the soul of our departed leader,” the APC said in a notice.

Buhari died at the age of 82 while undergoing treatment at a private medical facility in London.

The nature of the illness was not disclosed. His death was announced by his former spokesperson, Garba Shehu, in a brief statement on Sunday evening.

“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London,” Shehu wrote.

The Katsina State Government has announced that the body of former President Muhammadu Buhari will arrive in the state by 12 noon on Tuesday, July 15, ahead of his burial in Daura the same day.

Governor Dikko Radda disclosed the burial arrangement on Monday following confirmation of Buhari’s death in London on Sunday.
