BREAKING: Appeal court affirms Ishaku’s election, nullifies tribunal’s verdict

A five-man panel of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday upheld the election of Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba, thereby quashing the verdict of the Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal

The tribunal had nullified the election of the governor on November 7, 2015  and declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aisha Jumai Alhassan as the duly elected governor of the state.

The Court, in its judgement, said Ishaku’s nomination by PDP could not be questioned by a non-member of the party.
