Ardova, Shell host stakeholders in energy,power industry

Leading indigenous and integrated energy company, Ardova Plc. and global lubricants company, Shell International recently hosted the Shell Power Conference 2.0, a gathering of key stakeholders in Nigeria’s energy sector.

The event with the theme ‘Powering Nigeria’s Energy Future: Bridging the Gap Between Ambition and Action’, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and investors to explore solutions to accelerate Nigeria’s transition to a more reliable, sustainable, and inclusive energy future.

The event is a strategic platform for dialogue on Nigeria’s energy landscape, addressing challenges around access, efficiency, and affordability of power. This year’s conference built on the momentum of its inaugural edition, amplifying Shell and Ardova’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.

In his welcome remark, Managing Director, Ardova Plc, Moshood Olajide said: “Our partnership with Shell is founded on a shared vision to drive innovation in power and make it accessible to Nigerians. A major highlight of the event was the panel discussion, which featured seasoned experts in energy space. The session, titled “Bridging the Gap Between Ambition and Action” was moderated by Eleanor Okubor, Energy specialist at Mckinsey and Company. Panelists include Chief Executive Officer, Egbin Power Plc,Moktar Bounour; Managing Director, Greenflare, Adeoye Fadeyibi, and Special Adviser to the President on Power Infrastructure, Office of the Vice President, Engr. Wanka Sodiq.

The dialogue examined the realities and opportunities in Nigeria’s power infrastructure, Policy regulation and the path toward an enabling environment for investment, Public-private partnerships as a catalyst for impact and financing models for growth in the power growth.

Also speaking, Business Development Manager, Shell Macro Distributor, Europe and Africa, Osama El-Sherif said: “At Shell, we believe Nigeria’s energy transition must be ambitious and realistic. The Shell Power Conference engaged solution-driven conversations highlighting accountability, policy coherence, and capacity building in closing the energy access gap.
