
TO enhance efficiency and reduction in cost of governance, a major restructuring in public governance was effected at the weekend by Osun state government with announcement of reduction ministries in the state from 17 to 12.
The restructuring also witnessed the creation of a new ministry yet to be named by the government.
Consequently, the state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, in a letter has notified the State House of Assembly of the restructuring of the state’s machinery of government reducing the state’s ministries to 12 in the process.
In a letter of notification forwarded to the Speaker of the House, Najeem Folasayo Salaam, Governor Aregbesola stated that while there would be 12 ministries, nine agencies and bureaus would be under his watch for direct supervision.
The Governor stated in his letter, which was dated January 21 that the decision to restructure was arrived at after a reappraisal of the machinery of government.
