Army begins simulation exercise on Kaduna-Bauchi road today
The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of a simulation exercise by troops beginning from today (Tuesday) to April 20th, as part of the training activities to mark the 2016 Nigeria Army Day celebration.
A statement issued by the acting Director Army Public Relations (ag.DAPR) Colonel Sani Usman, said: “The exercise will start with the massing up of troops in Bauchi and Kachia and later culminate in a simulation exercise at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji.”
“Due to this development, there will likely be daily procession by troops along the aforementioned routes. Members of the public are hereby urged not to panic on sighting routine convoy of troops along Kaduna-Kachia–Bauchi road and the general area of Alkaderi Forest in Bauchi State.
They are advised to go about their normal activities during the period of the field training exercise.”
The Army Day celebration is a yearly event to honour soldiers, especially those who participated in wars in defence of the country. The grand finale of last year’s event was held in Maiduguri, the epicentre of the counter-insurgency operation, to boost the morale of the troops in the operation Lafiya Dole.
