Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Joseph Chike Edozien, has called on Nigerians to pray for the success of coming elections across the country.

Edozien made the call when the PDP House of Assembly candidate for Oshimili South Constituency, Bridget Anyafulu, paid him a consultation visit in his palace, yesterday, in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The monarch, who bemoaned high rate of poverty in country, despite huge resources and natural endowment, urged the candidate to make the development of Oshimili South Constituency a priority, if elected.

He lamented that countries without resources were doing well economically unlike Nigeria and appealed to all to find solutions to youth unemployment.

Edozien also asked Nigerian leaders to be accountable and transparent to the people at all times, even as he called on Oshimili South political leaders to unite to make Oshimili South Council the economic hub of the state.

Anyafulu promised to work with all communities in the council in line with United Nations Community assessment model to facilitate development in the constituency, if elected.

She promised to use her decades of experience as development worker to bring growth to her constituency, promote youths, women empowerment, employment opportunities, needed infrastructural development and make a great difference to ensure Oshimili South Constituency takes her place in Delta political space.
