The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KUSTA) branch, has told the state government to urgently address its internal requests to avert a further strike in the university.
In a statement, yesterday, after the union’s meeting on the resumption of academic activities, the Chairman of KUSTA ASUU, Dr. Yale Ibrahim, noted that the decision was to bring sanity to academic activities and ensure smooth lectures.

Ibrahim urged the state government to implement their yearly salary increment and other demands.
“The union hopes that the state government and the university’s governing council will consider this opening, to adequately address the lingering issues in the branch and avert local industrial action,” he said.
The statement also commended the state government, the Ministry of High Education, the governing council and parents for being patient throughout the national strike.
He assured them that lectures would commence in earnest, as the lecturers are fully ready to support and carry out their normal academic activities.
