ASUU members protest against work overload

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso branch yesterday protested deteriorating health of lecturers of the Institution due to work overload.

The union lamented that lecturers’ work throughout the year without going on leave thereby affecting academic productivity and scholarly contributions.

ASUU noted that this recent development, which may result in sudden death of staff was being done to increase the Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR) of the university due to negligent attitude of the owner states. 
The union also berated Governor Rauf Aregbesola  of Osun state and his Oyo state counterpart, Abiola Ajimobi over non payment of its arrears.

While Osun state under Governor Rauf Aregbesola was accused of owing 11 ‎months, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state owed two months.

ASUU in a statement by its Chairman, Prof. Oyebamiji Oyegoke and made available to reporters in Ibadan raised alarm on the deteriorating health of academic staff who were made to work throughout the year without rest in order to raise the Internally Generated Revenue.
