Mimiko, Al-Mustapha, Dokpesi harp on unity, equity, justice

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, emeritus chairman of DAAR Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi and former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, have urged unity, equality, equity and justice for the sustainability of the nation.

Speaking at the sixth edition of Dr. Fredrick Fasehun’s annual public lecture organised by Integrity Icons in Akure with the theme, “Nigeria’s quest for social justice and credible leadership: The travail of a nation on trial,” the trio stressed that the country comes first in all endeavours.

Mimiko, who lauded Fasehun for his efforts to develop the nation and Yorubaland, said the major problems of youths were that they had no quality role model.

He, however, praised them for their commitment to the lecture.

Mimiko lamented the rise in xenophobia worldwide, referring to Brexit in Britain and the just concluded United States presidential election won by Donald Trump.

He attributed all of this to failure of globalisation.

According to him, events abroad throw challenges at Nigerians, saying: “We must look inward in Nigeria.

Decorated at the event were one-time Secretary to the military government of Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), Chief Olu Falae and three others for their service to humanity.

The guest lecturer, Dare Babarinsa, had reminded the audience that Al-Mustapha actually imprisoned Falae and Fasehun in same prison during the military junta.
