Former Vice President and presidential hopeful in next year’s general elections, Atiku Abubakar, has eulogised former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, describing him as a bridge builder.
Atiku spoke, yesterday, during the 20th anniversary of the commissioning of Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre.
“The late Shehu Yar’Adua was known as a bridge builder. He constructed bridges of understanding based on equity and social justice to dissuade mistrust among the people of this nation,” Atiku said, adding: “We became friends and later discovered we had a lot in common: we had both been farmers; we both had interest in the maritime business; and shared a common vision for Nigeria – a democratic Nigeria.”
Atiku further expressed hope that the Centre will continue to stand as a symbol of unity in Nigeria.
