Police detectives in Delta State yesterday arraigned an ATM fraudster, Uchechukwu Uzokwe, who was arrested within the premises a new generation bank before an Asaba Chief Magistrate Court for stealing an ATM card belonging to a lady and thereafter withdrew N12, 000 from her account.

The accused person pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before him.

Count One (Charge No. CMA/591c/2016) read: “That you, Uchechukwu Uzokwe, aged 20, on Thursday, October 20, 2016, by Lobs Hotel, Umuagu Quarters, Asaba Magistrate District, did stole one Diamond Bank ATM card valued at N1, 000 only, property of one Onyinyechi John (female) and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap C21, Vol. 1Law of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.”

Court Two read: “That you, Uchechukwu Uzokwe, on the above date and Magistrate district, did stole the sum of N12, 000 by using Onyinyechi John’s (F) Diamond Bank ATM Card to withdraw the said money, property of the named complainant, thereby committed an offence punishable under the Laws of Delta State via Nigeria.”
