He has also ordered political appointees seeking elective positions in the 2023 elections to tender their resignation letters on or before12 noon, May 5 (today).
The directive was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the governor, Christian Ita.
The statement reads: “His Excellency, the Governor, Sir Ben Ayade, has directed that any political appointee presently serving in his government but desires to seek elective position in the forthcoming 2023 elections is at liberty to do so.
“He, however, added that such appointees should turn in their resignation on or before 12noon of May 5, 2022; and such letters should be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.”
According to the statement, the governor thanked political appointees for their invaluable service to the state and prayed God to bless their future endeavours.
On plan to reshuffle his cabinet, the statement reads: “Sir Ben Ayade is set to carry out a major reshuffle in a bid to ensure the administration finishes strong as it enters the last lap of its lifespan.
“Towards this end, permanent secretaries of all ministries, departments and agencies are hereby directed to prepare to tender an assessment of the various political appointees in the MDAs.”
