Bauchi APC leaders vow 1m votes after endorsing Tinubu for 2027

President Bola Tinubu

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as their consensus candidate for next year’s general elections.

The party stalwarts include Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, Senator Shehu Buba, former governors Isa Yuguda and Mohammad Abdullahi Abubakar, and a retired official of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bala Wunti.

The stakeholders made the endorsement during a high-level meeting held in Bauchi on Tuesday.

According to them, it was convened to strengthen internal cohesion and strategically position the party for electoral success ahead of 2027 in the state.

The meeting, led by Pate, brought together key party leaders, former governors, elders, aspirants, and supporters from across the state.

The stakeholders also resolved to work towards selecting a well-deserving candidate for the governorship seat next year.

Speaking at the meeting, Pate moved the motion for President Tinubu’s endorsement, which was seconded by Abubakar, before being unanimously adopted by the stakeholders.

He assured that party stakeholders, ranging from aspirants and former governors to senators, House Representatives members and grassroots leaders, are united and committed to mobilising one million for and ensuring Tinubu’s victory in 2027.

Also speaking, Yuguda, who is also Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative for the North-East region, urged party members and residents of the state to unite and support the APC at all levels.

The event was attended by a delegation of key governorship aspirants and political figures, including Dr Bala Wunti, Senator Shehu Buba, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar.

Representing the Bala Wunti Movement, Alhaji Adamu Fanta called for renewed unity within the party, reiterating the group’s commitment to the stability, growth, and success of the APC.

IN the meantime, APC National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has lobbied Governor Bala Mohammed, who had announced his plan to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Nentawe was accompanied by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and held a closed-door meeting with Mohammed.

The meeting came 24 hours after the national leadership of ADC wooed the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, who submitted that the coalition is a “more viable” opposition.

Both Mohammed and Nentawe declined to address the press.

Mohammed later confirmed yesterday that the ADC National Chairman, David Mark, had wooed him and his supporters.
