The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Aminu Hammayo, said at the hearing in Bauchi South, yesterday, that the exercise was to get the input of people at the grassroots before the formulation and consolidation of the budget, which is going to be demand-driven.
Hammayo said the public hearing allowed wider participation and inclusivity while creating a sense of ownership and sustainability of government projects.
He urged participants to make useful inputs in line with the development objectives of the state government and its funding constraints.
Also, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdulrazak Zaki, said Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration would continue to execute and implement people-oriented projects that would improve their living conditions by considering their inputs in the budget process.
