Bauchi State Government has ordered all schools, including private and Quranic, to conduct the 2022/2023 census, threatening to sanction any defaulting institution.

Bauchi State Government has ordered all schools, including private and Quranic, to conduct the 2022/2023 census, threatening to sanction any defaulting institution.

Addressing newsmen, yesterday, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru, said the ministry expects all the private and integrated Quranic schools to comply before January 27.

“You may be aware that there are indices going round about the enrolment, about the school drop-out in Bauchi; but this year, we are ready to conduct a robust engagement because we believe we have been under-reported in this manner.

“This is based on our realisation that data is important for proper planning and other administrative processes. This is also to ensure that we have effective service in the education sector of the state.”

The state, therefore, directed all private and integrated Quranic schools in the state to key into the yearly school census, to be conducted by the Ministry of Education from this week.

“All these schools are, therefore, directed to provide their records to the ministry through the education secretaries of their various local council authorities that will be coming for the census.”

“Failure to comply with the directive will be met with severe sanctions. This submission must be made on or before January 27, 2023,” she said.
