BENIN City, home of authentic arts and culture, at the weekend exploded in a snowball of energetic lyrics as Nigeria’s most entertaining musicians took the centre stage to perform at the Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce concert in the city.

Fun-seeking residents of the city and its environs who thronged the  Best Western Hotel, GRA, venue of the concert in their thousands, had more fun than they bargained for as one artiste after the other delivered outstanding performances.

It was a night like never before as the highly ingenious comedian, Okey Bakassi sent the audience reeling with laughter in between the music performances by the super stars from Lagos and Benin-based artistes who made their city proud. There was also DJ XGee who manned the turntable and dished out popular dancehall tunes.

The first big act to mount the stage was the “I don get alert” exponent, Korede Bello. He opened the night of fun with panache, assuring the crowd that he had the right formula to tickle their fancy. In quick succession, Korede Bello, adorning a white trouser, brown blazer and black t-shirt with a hefty necklace, thrilled the crowd with Na God Win and Ada Ada.

Other artistes who performed at the event included Burna Boy, Wizkid, the Koko Master, D’banj, R and A, Blue Ice and the visually -impaired Smooth Flavour.

Speaking on her experience after the show, Evelyn Emokpai, a University of Benin graduate of International Relations, said that she had fun “like never before and it was heart-warming for me to see these stars here on stage free of charge.”
