Workers in Benue State under the aegis of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) called on the state government to lift embargo on employment so as to address shortage of staff in the service.

The NLC, in a keynote address delivered by it’s Chairman, Comrade Godwin Anya at the IBB Public Square, Makurdi, also called on government to clear all salary arrears owed workers without delay and to respect the financial autonomy of the judiciary as contained in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which was agreed upon by government with JUSUN.

Labour in the state further called for harmonization of all categories of civil pensioners in the state with local government pensioners to alleviate the hardship faced by pensioners in the state.
