Bob-Manuel, Agwu task parents, guardians on godly upbringing

Dr. David Bob-Manuel

The Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, His Most Eminence, Baba Aladura David Bob-Manuel, Moses Orimolade 1X, has urged sons and daughters of the church to imbibe the habit of studying and practising God’s words and grow with them.

He said it is not only studying the words for quiz purposes or preaching sake but also applying them to one’s life that matters to attract associated blessings.

The Prelate, who spoke during the grand finale of the first Centenary Quiz Competition, themed: “Champion of Champions Centenary Children Bible Quiz Competition,” sponsored by Dr Emeka and Dr Mercy Agwu, National Coordinator of Eternal Bible Quiz and President Voice of Evangelism International, Houston, TX, U.S. for children in ESOCS Church, noted that the church’s hymnal 62 was instructive on the potency of their actions and inactions. He stated that Hymnal 62 served as a wheel to bring people to Christ or drive them away.

The cleric, who was represented by Senior Apostle Napo Emuchay, appealed to members to strive more to bring people to Christ with their knowledge of God’s words and their attitude to match their preaching.

This is the only way, according to him, members shall make themselves approved by God to spread the good news to the world that is in dire need of the healing power of the word.

Also in his address, the sponsor, Agwu, while quoting Proverbs 22:6, which says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” called on the church to obey the Bible portion by engaging in it vigorously and with zeal, especially now that the ungodly world is corrupting children everywhere across nations of the world with technology that is supposed to enhance the wellbeing of humanity.

He lamented that technology had become a threat to the younger generation, and children are being deprived of having a relationship with God.

Agwu, therefore, called on parents, teachers, schools, as well as all stakeholders, to be mindful of the attack of technology on ethical Christian living.

Children who were tested on their knowledge of the Bible and doctrines of the church went home with cash rewards. For instance, the first winner went home with a cash prize of N500,000 and a trophy; the second clinched a cup and N300,000; while the third person grabbed a cup and N200,000. There were also other consolation prizes and cash rewards given to them.
