Bodies seal pact for better response to oil spills

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) have sealed signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for better response to oil spills.

NIMASA Director General, Dakuku Peterside, at the ceremony yesterday in Abuja, said the pact would ensure that response to marine oil pollution was efficient, effective and enhance environment sustainability.NOSDRA DG Idris Musa said the agreement would harmonise the responsibilities of the two bodies.
