Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners (ANPMP) has sought Federal Government’s support for members that lost hospitals and homes to the recent flooding in the country.

In a statement signed yesterday by its President and Secretary General, Drs. Kay Adesola and Ned Okoro, the body noted that the affected medics contribute about 70 per to healthcare delivery in the country and are among those that have refused to emigrate.

The association regretted that the harsh economic situation in Nigeria has been worsened by the disaster.
Stating that members had raised and distributed N10 million to the victims, ANPMP submitted that the sum remains ‘a little drop into the ocean of need.’

It appealed: “We use this medium to reach out to President Muhammadu Buhari; Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria, Sadiya Umar Faruoq and various governmental and non-governmental organisations to extend supportive milk of humanity to these (our) colleagues, who have suffered so much losses and are finding things so tough in the aftermath of the flood disaster.”

“We also seize this opportunity to appeal to the Federal Government to seek and put a final solution to this perennial flood disaster across the land.”
