The Nigerian Army has declared three persons – two men and a woman – wanted over alleged link to the terror group, Boko Haram, and for concealing information from it on the whereabout of the Chibok Girls kidnapped on April 14, 2014.

Journalist Ahmad Salkida, Ahmed U. Bolori and Aisha Wakil were declared wanted on Sunday after Boko Haram on Sunday released a video of the girls, showing some who are still alive and claiming others died in air strikes.

The video was the latest release from embattled Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, who earlier this month denied claims that he had been replaced as the leader of the jihadist group.

“There is no doubt that these individuals have links with Boko Haram Terrorists and have contacts with them,” said Nigerian Army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman in a statement.

“They must, therefore, come forward and tell us where the group is keeping the Chibok Girls and other abducted persons to enable us rescue them.”

Usman said the authorities of the Army believed that the wanted persons knew the exact locations of the girls but failed to volunteer the information to security agencies.

“The Nigerian Army hereby declare the two gentlemen and the lady wanted for interrogation. We are relying on the relevant laws of the land and in particular the Terrorism Prevention Act 2011 (as amended) where Nigerians could be punished for failure to disclose information about terrorists or terrorists activities,” Usman said.

Salkida, one of the persons declared wanted, on Saturday night, said via his Twitter handle that the video was sent to him ‘exclusively’ before the girl’s abductors uploaded it on Youtube.

“Jama‘atu Ahlil Sunnah Li-Da‘awati Wal-Jihad #BH has released a video showing the abducted #Chibokgirls and restating their demands,” Salkida tweeted late on Saturday night.

“This is the second time Shekau has ordered a video of the girls to be released to the public, since the abduction of the girls 852 days ago.”

“I’m studying the video of the #Chibokgirls that was sent exclusively to me before their abductors upload on it YouTube later.”

The Chibok girls were not the only women abducted by Boko Haram. Seems to me that this exclusive focus on them is because of interest shown by the western countries to their case. My question is this : Must the west tell us what to do always ? Up to what values to hold. Are Africans so dumb? Somebody far away will highlight for you that protection of your women and children is important ? That it is everything ? Shame on us all as a nation without values.

really your are 1/2 right. Chibok girls draws a lot of world attention because the way they were abducted. these girls were at school, a learning place, under FG protection because the place is owned by the FG/state government. it is the same thing that someone is being abducted in his father’s compound without his father or mother try to save him or her. the previous government was not immediately pro-active to rescue those girls and the present government is only making a lot of noise without any result. the army and the Fg are only saying that they have freed the NE without getting what are missing since 2014, that is the Chibok girls. you are right when you are saying that many were abducted, both men and women of which Nigerians will never know there exact number. unfortunately, African nations are not capable to rule this continent without there masters’ advise, the western world. Africans are the cancers of themselves. the missing of chibok girls continue having a big debate in the west, how is it possible for 217 to be abducted for a long time without knowing where they are? it seems like hiding and elephant in a room!!

Wrong approach by the Nigerian Army. Have you tried requesting for his cooperation and he failed? Have you approached him as to discuss with him and find out the extent of what he know about Boko Haram, before declaring him wanted? You have his pictures and possibly know his village and his family compund, but what effort have you and your officers expended to see that you the man on the same page with your efforts? if these factors I raised are in the negative, then I will assume that you and your officers have no business in the Security establishment of the country. Anyway, this can only happen in Nigeria, because everything is based on QUOTA System.

the Nigeria army should accept their failure in rescuing the chibok girls, instead of hunting journalists that are doing their work professionally. the problem is that Nigerians are used to copy and past journalism and information. journalist in Nigeria do not know what is called investigative journalism, as the 3 journalists mentioned here are doing. A really journalist will never disclose the font of his information, it is come throughout the world. Why is that the Nigeria army could not succeed in infiltrating their men as journalist within the sect if they are capable. the FG and army are trying whom to accuse for their incompetent. Any journalist that disclose his font is not a journalist but a spy!!! he will end his carrier tragically if care is not taken. he will be jobless without future because no one will trust him again. these type of journalist is what we want in Nigeria, capable of getting true information not those journalist watching television from morning till night to get information that has already expired from tv or radio without moving away from their office. for this reason when you read Nigerian newspapers it seems that if Nigeria have only one newspaper, they all carry the same news!!!. in other parts of the world some journalist even pay informant to get exclusive information and a serious news editor normal pay to get it only for his paper. what a shame to Nigerian FG and army. LONG LIFE FOR A GOOD JOURNALISM NOT COPY AND PAST.
