The Kano State Government has donated N100 million to the Borno State Government to support victims of the recent flood in the state.

According to the state government, the gesture was intended to provide succor to residents devastated by the humanitarian crisis.

Presenting the donation to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum at the weekend, Kano Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, said Kano sympathises with the government and people of Borno over the ugly incident.

Dantiye who led the delegation, told Zulum that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf particularly expressed deep sympathy, describing the humanitarian crisis as catastrophic.

Kano state government used the occasion to solicit collective support to elevate the pain and loss of the people of Borno state. According to Dantiye, Kano will continue to sustain solidarity with Borno in this trying time.

Yusuf prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the flood and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Responding to the gesture, Governor Zulum expressed profound gratitude to the Kano State Government and its people for their generous support.

He assured that the donation would be used judiciously to benefit the flood victims.

Zulum noted that the act of kindness displayed by Yusuf exemplifies the unity and shared commitment of Nigerian states in times of crisis.

Sani Abba Yola, Director, Special Duties, Kano Ministry of Information said the delegation included Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Eradication Amina Sani and Special Adviser to the Governor on Policy and Social Development Dr. Danyaro Yakasai.
