British Council laments $4 billion spent on imported clothes yearly
Director of Arts, West Africa, British Council, Ojoma Ochai, has urged the Federal Government to evolve practical policies in boosting the Nigerian garment value chain, saying this would curtail the $4 billion spent on imported clothes yearly.
He posited that if government takes to the advice, it would encourage local wears to thrive thereby boosting the country’s economy and the African identity.
Ochai stated this at the graduation of the first stream of trainees to start a new fashion social enterprise in Osun State organised by IJINLE held at Terra Kulture, Lagos.
