Former President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, lamented that though he is still alive and agile, many of his classmates had since passed on due to natural or other causes.

He acknowledged that the few still alive were being helped to move around by loved ones on account of failing health.

Buhari spoke when he hosted reporters at his residence in Daura, Katsina State.

The ex-leader thanked God that he could still move around and go about normal activities, including entertaining guests, on Fridays and Sundays.

He said his physical and mental well-being might not be unconnected to his military background, where the regimental lifestyle had helped him keep shape and maintain good health.

Buhari added that people now see him and comment that he looked better post-presidential era.

He maintained that his administration its best to move Nigeria forward.

Admitting that the country was not an easy nation to govern, he submitted that some key achievements were recorded by his government during its eight-year period.

He clarified that he built his Daura home even before heading the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), noting that his home in Kaduna State was unpainted for several years before the Federal Government’s intervention.
