During the presentation and dedication of other national officers of CCN at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL), Owerri, yesterday, Buhari and Uzodimma prayed for Onuoha’s vision regarding the growth of the Church and success of his tenure.
In his letter of commendation and congratulation, which was read by Uzodimma, the President also said he has no doubt the cleric would live up to expectations and demands of his office, going by his track records.
The President expressed his belief that Onuoha’s long years of service and experience in Christendom, coupled with his spiritual flavour and sound theological training, passion for ecumenical unity and inter-faith dialogue rightly prepared him for the task ahead.
Buhari thanked the archbishop for his devotion to the unity and prosperity of Nigeria, and for constantly interceding for those in authority.
In his sermon, the archbishop emphasised on Nigeria’s unity and peace.
Noting that there is unity in strength, he admonished the faithful to work together for Nigeria’s unity, as “no religion can do it alone.”
