THE wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, has urged governments, corporate bodies and rich Nigerians to assist the downtrodden in the society.

Mrs. Buhari, who was represented yesterday by the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Yemi Osinbajo, spoke at the Heroes Square, Owerri during the inauguration of some two-bedroom houses and skills acquisition centre built by the wife of Imo governor, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha, and opening of year 2015 “Imo Women’s August Meetin.”

She commended the governor’s wife of Imo state for building the houses for indigent widows in the state, urging others to follow her footsteps. ]She said she felt very happy commissioning the projects executed under the wife of the governor’s ‘She Needs a Roof Project (SNAP) in the Women of Divine Initiative Programme (WODI).

The two bedroom houses were inaugurated in Ohi, Owerri West Local Council, Umudula-Orji, Owerri North, and the Skills Acquisition Centre in Naze, Owerri North Local Council.

That of Orji was handed over to Mrs. Onyinyechi Ahamefula, while Ohi bungalow was donated to Mrs. Adaku Ononiwu, both indigent widows. Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha donated N1 million to them before presentation of keys amid jubilation.
