In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at sparking a national dialogue and significantly advancing positive views about women’s economic power in Nigeria, The She Tank and BellaNaija have announced the launch of “#Her MoneyHer Power” campaign, harnessing the power of media and entertainment for social impact

This campaign seeks to amplify Nigerian women’s economic power, highlighting its pivotal role in fostering societal progress and national growth. Founder of The She Tank, Blessing Omakwu, said: “We believe in the transformative power of media to shape narratives and drive social change. Through #HerMoneyHerPower, we aim to inspire women across Nigeria to take control of their finances and begin to have conversations in their communities about the harmful norms that make so many women too dangerously close to poverty, far too often.”

Also, Founder of BellaNaija, Uche Pedro, said: “Our society stands to gain significantly from women’s economic power. In my opinion, it sparks joy as women are more fulfilled, it brings more financial stability to families, enables communities to recover faster from setbacks, and drives economic growth and resiliency at the national level.”

The campaign, while featuring an engaging segment on the Big Brother Naija reality show, a dynamic digital campaign on BellaNaija’s platforms, and media promotions across major networks, aims to challenge existing gender limitations and advocate for an environment where women’s economic influence is fully recognised and supported.

The campaign, according to the organisers, will also feature a series of discussions and activities focused on the role of women’s economic power in driving societal progress and encouraging policies that support women’s financial and entrepreneurial growth.

It will also include tasks for current Big Brother Naija Housemates designed to illustrate the significance of economic power, as well as stories from influential figures in entertainment and business sharing their experiences and perspectives.

However, the campaign is a call to action for all Nigerians to support a movement that seeks to enhance women’s economic influence, drive national growth, and foster lasting societal impact.
