The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) yesterday mourned renowned evangelist Billy Graham, who died at the age of 99.

The CAN National General Secretary Rev. Musa Asake said: “His life was a Christ-like life. He lived and practised what he preached.

“He never compromised and so it was a race that he finished very well. So, his life is a challenge to all Christians to maintain what we preach, live and practice it. That is what Billy Graham was.

“I’m so happy that he is now home with the Lord, resting from the sufferings of this earth. He finished well and it is the prayer for all of us to finish well.”

The Senior Pastor of Latter Rainy Assembly, Tunde Bakare also reacted to Graham’s death.

“Oh, may his soul rest in perfect peace. He was a great man in his time. He did what most of his contemporaries could not do, which even so many people forgot. His legacy would continue, he was a great man, great soul and great departure.”

The late Graham, who transformed America through his preaching and activism in North Carolina, died after a protracted battle with cancer and pneumonia.
