CDM lights up Abuja with Independence concert
Chorale de la Magnifique (CDM) will, tomorrow, treat Nigerians, especially Abuja residents, with a music concert to celebrate Nigeria’s 63rd Independence anniversary.
With ‘Nigeria Of Our Dreams’ as theme, the concert, which holds at Nigerian Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, will be conducted by the Grand Coordinator/Music Director (GCMD), Dr. Ike Eseka, who was tutored by the Anambra State-born Professor of Music, Igwe Laz Ekwueme.
With Zitu Benafa on the keyboard, Arthur Ejiofor will anchor the concert that will boast different genres of music, from classical to folk and patriotic songs.
Founded in Lagos in 1993, CDM has grown and established branches in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Asaba and Uyo, each of which is led by a Coordinator and Music Director (CMD).
The GCMD told The Guardian, yesterday, that the Independence Concert is an avenue to raise awareness and funds for the anniversary concert in December.
