Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Friday arrived the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat in Benin City to formally defect to the opposition PDP ahead of the state guber primary election for June 23.

The Edo State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) situated on the busy 1st East Circular Road in Benin city witnessed large turnout of party supporter and leaders as they chanted solidarity song amid cheers.

This is as the PDP leadership in the state have long awaited this days following Governor Obaseki’s disqualification by the APC screening committee in Abuja over discrepancies in his academic qualifications.

The PDP had earlier scheduled its primary election for for Friday and Saturday (June 19&20) but postponed it to Tuesday June 23 according to the Party’s Spokesman in statement released in Abuja.
