Christmas: ACF felicitates with Christians, urges FG to end terrorism in 2024

As it felicitates with Christians on the celebration of Christmas, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on the Federal Government to end the security challenges in the country that hinder economic development.
However, the Northern leaders commended the government over its response in the drone attack in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State.
In a statement, at the weekend, by its spokesman, Prof Tukur Mohammed-Baba, ACF noted: “No doubt, our various communities face daunting existential economic challenges, social upheavals, poverty, inequalities and political disagreements.
“ACF is conscious, worried and prays for escape from all the challenges. In the spirit of Yuletide, ACF calls on all to fervently pray for a deserved return to mutual understanding, tolerance, cooperation, responsible neighbourliness, peace, and tranquility in all communities specifically and for humanity in general.”
ACF also called on all to pray for knowledge, courage, wisdom and empathy for political, religious and traditional leaders, as well as for the armed forces, as they try to grapple with the challenges of the economy, insecurity, leadership and governance.”
Meanwhile, the Northern group expressed satisfaction with the response of the Federal Government, the states, organisations and the general public to the plight of victims of December 7, 2023, bomb attack on Tudun Biri community, Kaduna State.
ACF further listed measures to be taken to ensure the rehabilitation of the people and Tudun Biri community.
It added: “Corrupt, unscrupulous or unsympathetic elements must not be allowed to corner or divert any relief material meant for the victims as is often the case in the aftermath of disasters. Absolutely, no one should be allowed to benefit from the misery of the Tudun Biri and other bomb blast victims. ACF will, through its Kaduna chapter, closely monitor and comment on the matter as may become necessary from time to time.
“In line with today’s highly challenging economic conditions and to cushion the same, the people of Tudun Biri must immediately receive relief material from relevant public agencies and well-intentioned organisations and individuals.”
